• The Giant Company has promoted Steve Allison to VP Center Store Merchandising.
• The Giant Company plans to open a new 60,000 sq. ft. grocery store in Parkesburg, PA. Construction is set to begin later this year.
• Metro Inc. opened a new 29,000 sq. ft. Food Basics location in Ontario. The new store is the first of seven planned to open in the province in 2025.
• T & T Supermarket Inc. plans to open a new store in San Francisco, CA, next year.
• Thrive Market has named Kelly Nigh as VP of Strategic Merchandising Initiatives. Natalie Wieder has been hired as VP Category Management. Bri Waldoch joined the company as Senior Director Owned Brands. Yvette Lemieux has been named Director Category Management.
• WinCo Foods LLC is planning to open its first location in Colorado. An 84,000 sq. ft. store will open in Thornton, CO. Another store is planned for Firestone, CO.
• Woods Supermarket Inc. recently opened its first location in Colorado.
Retail
• ABC Supply Co. Inc. has named Zac Gaydosh as its Director of Commercial Roofing Sales.
• Academy Sports & Outdoors has opened its 300th store location. The retailer recently opened its first stores in Maryland and Pennsylvania and expects to open 25 new stores this year.
• Dollar General Corp. announced Nick Metzger has been promoted to VP Distribution Centers. Steve O’Brien has been named VP and DMM. The retailer also named Tricia Snider as Division VP of Store Operations. Bill Steiger is the new VP of Tax.
• Foot Locker Inc. has promoted Franklin Bracken to President of the company.
• Foot Locker Inc. reported it plans to move its headquarters office to St Petersburg, FL, this year.
• Macy’s Inc. announced that its CFO and COO, Adrian Mitchell, will be leaving the company. He will be succeeded by Thomas J. Edwards.
• Madison Reed, Inc. has named Sheila Shekar Pollak as its new Chief Marketing Officer.
• Mango Inc. recently opened its first store locations in New Mexico and Oregon. The retailer also plans to open its first-ever stores in Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana and Ohio this year.
• The Paper Store Inc. has opened a new 10,800 sq. ft. Uncharted store in Greenvale, NY. Six additional Uncharted locations are slated to open in Illinois in 2025.
• Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. is entering a new partnership with Uber Eats to offer online delivery.
• Primark USA announced its CEO, Paul Marchant, has resigned from the company. Eoin Tonge will be appointed as Interim CEO.
• Recreational Equipment Inc. has named Kristin Shane as its new Chief Merchandising Officer.
• US LBM Holdings, LLC announced Jonathan Greene will be promoted to the role of Chief Digital and Technology Officer. He succeeds Andrew Cambell.

• BLH Acquisition Co, LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and recently closed several Bar Louie locations.
• Bojangles Restaurants Inc. announced the appointment of Kate Ward as its new Chief Legal Officer, replacing Laura Roberts, who is leaving the company.
• Cilantro Taco Grill has secured franchise agreements to expand into California, Florida, Illinois, and Texas.
• Dutch Bros. Coffee says it plans to reach 2,029 stores in 2029, with plans to open 160 new stores this year.
• HOA Restaurant Group LLC has recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
• Jack in the Box Inc. has named Lance Tucker as its permanent CEO.
• Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems reported it plans to open 350 to 400 new locations in the next few years.
• P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Restaurants announced Brad Hill has been promoted to CEO. He succeeds Eduardo Luz who is leaving the company. Corey Robertson has been named as the new COO for the company.
• Playa Bowls recently opened its 300th location. An additional 90 shops are set to open before the end of the year.
• Rego Restaurant Group has named Neel Patel as its new CEO.
• Slim Chickens has named Patrick Noone as its new Chief Marketing Officer.
• Twin Restaurant Holding LLC announced Joe Hummel will resign as CEO. Clay Mingus, Chief Legal Officer, has also left the company. Ken Kuick has been appointed Interim CEO, and Allen Sussman has been appointed Interim Chief Legal Officer.
