• Lidl US is opening its third location in Delaware. The new supermarket will open July 11.

• Presidente Supermarkets recently opened a new grocery store in Hialeah, FL. The company plans to open two more locations in the area by the end of the year.

• At Home Group Inc. has filed for bankruptcy protection and plans to close 26 of its stores by September 30. The locations slated to close are in CA, FL, IL, MA, MN, MT, NJ, NY, PA, VA, WA, and WI.

• Costco Wholesale Corp. reported it will build its first standalone gas station in Mission Viejo, CA, in spring 2026.

• The Home Depot Canada reported it will open a new store in Fort McMurray, AB, in spring 2026.

• Kirkland’s Inc. has plans to change its corporate name to The Brand House Collective, Inc. The retailer plans to close 20 to 25 stores.

• Kirkland’s Inc. has named Courtenay Adolf as VP of Supply Chain. Jamie Schisler has been named COO of the company. Kerri Dlugokinski has been named VP and GMM.

• Vera Bradley, Inc. announced that its CEO, Jacqueline Ardrey, is leaving the retailer at the end of July. Martin Layding has been hired as the company’s new CFO.

• Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. has entered into an agreement to be acquired by private equity firm Sycamore Partners.

• Wayfair Inc. recently opened a 20,000 sq. ft. Perigold store in Houston, TX. It is the first store location for the brand.

• Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay has named Patrick Cunningham as its first Chief Development Officer.

• Donatos Pizzeria LLC has opened its first fully autonomous store at the Columbus International Airport in Ohio.

• Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is reportedly testing a full-service model at its new location in Sugar Land, TX. The concept will include “Tacotenders” who will take and deliver customers’ orders tableside.

• Malnati Organization Inc. has named Julie Younglove-Webb as its new CEO.

• Puttshack recently opened a new 30,000 sq. ft. location in Skokie, IL.

• Smalls Sliders Franchising LLC reported it has hired Clint Penfield as its new COO.

• YUM! Brands Inc. reported that Chris Turner will be its next CEO effective October 1.
