• Advance Auto Parts Inc. reported it is closing 523 Advance corporate stores and 204 independent locations.
• Citi Trends, Inc. has appointed Kenneth Seipel as CEO of the company. Peter Sachse has been appointed Chairman.
• CVS Health has named Dr. Sreekanth Chaguturu as President of Health Care Delivery. He replaces Mike Pykosz, who left the company.
• Dollar Tree Stores Inc. announced Steve Schumacher has been promoted to Exec VP and Chief People Officer. Jocelyn “Jocy” Konrad has been appointed Chief of Stores and Enterprise. Jason Nordin has been named President of Family Dollar Stores Inc.
• Kendra Scott LLC has opened a new concept, called Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott. The new store is in Austin, TX. The company plans to open new Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott locations in Dallas and Houston, TX, and Nashville, TN.
• The Paper Store Inc. recently unveiled the new store concept, called Uncharted. A 12,000 sq. ft. location opened in Oak Brook, IL. The retailer announced additional locations will open across the country in 2025.
• Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. has announced that Joe Venezia will join the company as Chief Revenue Officer.
• The Sherwin-Williams Co. reported John G. Morikis will retire from his position as Executive Chairman on December 31, 2024. Heidi G. Petz will assume the additional role of Chairman at that time.

Restaurant
• Chipotle has opened their 1,000th store that features a Chipotlane drive-thru after starting the concept just five years ago. The company also projects 8% to 10% unit growth every year.
• Chuck E. Cheese is testing out a new playground design in order to update their stores. The new design is slated to roll out nationwide next year.
• Freddy’s is exploring a sale to a private equity group that could value the company at $1 billion.
• Frisch’s Big Boy has been purchased by two of its executives. Don Short and Cheryl White have purchased the remainder of the stores and the rights to develop more.
• Jersey Mike’s has announced that they will be selling a majority ownership stake to Blackstone, a private equity firm.
• Jimmy John’s has opened their first location in Canada. The new restaurant has a slightly smaller menu and marks the third location the company has opened outside the U.S.
• McDonald’s is preparing to launch a “McValue” deal next year that will add new options to their current $5 deal. The company is also relaunching the McRib after claiming last year would be the last appearance of the popular limited time menu item.
• Nothing Bundt Cakes has named Joel Larkin as Chief Development Officer.
• Panera has removed Chairman Michael Tattersfield and appointed Patrick Grismer in his place.
• Smoothie King has named Jyoti Lynch as Chief Information Officer.
