• Builders FirstSource Inc. has named Peter Jackson, CFO, as the company’s next President and CEO, effective November 6. He will succeed Dave Rush, who is retiring. Pete Beckmann will become CFO at that time.

• Floor & Decor Holdings, Inc. recently opened a new store location in Falls Church, VA.

• Macy’s Inc. has hired Jason Holzman as Senior VP of Creative and Production.

• Roots Canada Ltd. announced that Karuna Scheinfeld, its Chief Product Officer, will leave the company at the end of 2024.

Restaurant

• BurgerFi has been approved for $3.5 million in funding to ensure their remaining locations remain in operation throughout their bankruptcy proceedings.

• Chipotle has announced that their automated digital makeline and Autocado automation systems have passed the testing phase and are now being piloted in restaurants. The autocado system robotically cuts, cores, and peels avocados for team members to use in guacamole. The automated digital makeline uses robotics to fill digital orders for bowls and salads.

• Darden Restaurants has entered into a multi-year partnership with Uber Direct. The partnership will begin with Olive Garden later this year as the company begins rolling out third-party delivery to all locations and it will be completed by May 2025.

• Fat Brands has converted their first Smokey Bones into a Twin Peaks restaurant. The restaurant is located in Lakeland, FL, and is part of a plan to convert 30 Smokey Bones into Twin Peaks.

• Flynn Group has acquired 13 Panera Bread locations.

• Red Lobster’s new CEO, Damola Adamolekun, has committed to investing $60 million to improve their existing restaurants.

• Smashburger is celebrating their 17th anniversary by updating their branding and revamping their menu.
