• Aldi Inc. announced that it plans to hire more than 13,000 new employees as it prepares for the upcoming holiday season.
• Foxtrot Ventures Inc recently re-opened a location in Chicago, IL. The company plans to open more of its former stores soon, in IL and TX.
• Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. has launched a new private label program, called GO Brands.
• National Grocers Association has hired David Cutler as VP of Media Relations and Public Affairs, and Dean Longhofer as Senior Manager for Membership and Data Management.
• TrueNorth Energy has acquired 15 convenience stores from Wagner Oil Co.

• 1-800 FLOWERS.com Inc. announced Bill Shea will retire as CFO, effective Dec. 29. James Langrock has been appointed to replace him at that time.
• Academy Sports & Outdoors is planning to open nine stores in the third quarter of this year, including locations in Ft. Birmingham, AL, Myers, FL, and Bloomington, IN.
• American Eagle Outfitters Inc. recently opened new store Todd Snyder locations in Larkspur, CA, and New York City, NY. The retailer has plans to open another five stores by the first half of next year. They will be located in California, Chestnut Hill, MA, and Nashville, TN, as well as two other locations not yet announced.
• Cardinal Health Inc. recently opened its new 350,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Greenville, SC.
• The Carter Lumber Co. has opened a new lumberyard in Columbia, SC.
• Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. recently opened its 15th Dick’s House of Sport location. The retailer plans to open five more of the stores by the end of the year.
• Do it Best Corp. has promoted Lauren Wilson to Division Purchasing Manager of Building Materials.
• LL Flooring Holdings, Inc. is going out of business. The company announced closing sales will begin at all its stores this week.
• Rite Aid Corporation announced it has exited bankruptcy and is no longer a public company. The retailer also announced the appointment of Matt Schroeder as its new CEO. Jeffrey Stein has left the company.

• BJ’s Restaurants has named Lyle Tick as President and Chief Concept Officer.
• BurgerFi has received two deficiency notices from Nasdaq for failing to file their quarterly reports on time and failing to replace resigned board directors. If the company does not submit a plan to correct these deficiencies within 90 days, they will be delisted from the Nasdaq stock market.
• Chipotle has partnered with Spirit Halloween to release a costume collection based on the company’s social media channels.
• Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has pledged increase the tax break for restaurant startups to $50,000 up from the current $5,000.
• First Watch has named Rob Conti as Chief Information Officer.
• Nothing Bundt Cakes has hired Wanda Williams as Chief Operating Officer.
• TopGolf will be spun off from parent company Callaway in 2025.
