• Fiesta Mart will open a new 49,000 sq. ft. supermarket in Lewisville, TX, next week. It is the company’s first new store since 2015.

• Giant Food LLC announced Tonya Herring was named Chief Merchant Officer.

• Harris Teeter Inc. reported it will open a new store location in Beaufort, SC, next week.

• Save-A-Lot Holdings, Inc. has announced a partnership with Uber Eats for delivery service from some of its stores.

• Texas Born, Inc. announced it plans to open 12 new convenience store locations in central Texas.

• Vallarta Supermarkets recently relocated its office headquarters to Santa Clarita, CA.

• Wawa Inc. recently opened its first drive-thru store in Largo, FL. The 2,200 sq. ft. location will serve food and will not offer fuel.

 

Retail

• Beyond, Inc. has announced Chandra Holt has left the company. Dave Nielsen been appointed as President.

• Builders FirstSource Inc. named Johnny Cope as President of Commercial. He replaces Mike Farmer who has left the company.

• Claire’s Holdings LLC announced Chris Cramer, who serves as CFO and COO, has been appointed as Interim CEO. He succeeds Ryan Vero, who has left the retailer.

• Leslie’s Poolmart Inc. announced it will open 15 new stores in 2024. Seven of the new stores will be located in Texas. The others are planned for Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, New York, and Washington.

• Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. announced it has partnered with Instacart.

 

Restaurant

• Little Caesars’ has named Kieth Faigan as Chief Information Officer, Afia Phillips as Chief Information Security Officer and Lance Shinabarger as Chief Information Officer of Shared Technologies.

• McDonald’s has confirmed that they will be launching a $5 Meal Deal on June 25 that will run for a limited time through the summer.

• Netflix plans to open two entertainment concepts that will feature foodservice in 2025.

• Panera is closing a dough-making plant in Arizona that will result in the layoff of 64 employees. It is unclear how many stores were served from this facility and marks the second such facility that Panera has closed this year.

• Shake Shack has named Stephanie Sentell as Chief Operating Officer.

• Starbucks announced that Marriot Bonvoy will be joining their rewards program alongside current partners Delta and Bank of America.

• TooJay’s has named Mark Kirke as CEO.
