• Mod Pizza has named Jennifer Anderson as CMO. The company has also closed 27 locations in response to California’s AB 1228 fast-food law.

• TGI Fridays has agreed to merge with their UK-based franchisee, Hostmore plc. The company will be traded publicly on the London Stock Exchange. The $220 million deal will rename the company TGI Fridays plc, the company’s main operations will remain at their Dallas headquarters with CEO, Weldon Spangler, remaining at the helm.
