• Ahold-Delhaize announced that Marc Stolzman has been named as the company’s new Chief Sustainability Officer.

• Big Y Foods Inc. has promoted Devyn Blais to VP of Finance. John P. Fraro has been promoted to Senior Director of Fresh Foods. David J. Argento has been promoted to Director of Pharmacy. James T. Billingsley has been promoted to Director of Accounting. Iliana Del Valle-Colon has been promoted to Director of Deli, Bakery and Kitchen. Amanda M. Pereira has been promoted to Director of Treasury.

• Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. will acquire United Grocery Outlet. The transaction includes 40 stores and a distribution center in AL, GA, KY, NC, TN, and VA.

• Murphy USA Inc. has named Mindy West to the newly created position of Exec VP and COO. The company also announced that Galagher Jeff has been hired as Exec VP and CFO. Chris Click has been promoted to Exec VP Strategy, Growth and Innovation.

• The Save Mart Companies has appointed Chris Hooks as its new Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer.

• US Foods Inc. announced its plan to open five new Chef’Store stores in GA, NC, OR, and VA in the second half of 2024.

 

Retail

• Beyond, Inc. announced that Chandra Holt is joining the company as CEO of Bed Bath & Beyond. Dave Nielsen has been named CEO of Overstock. Adrianne Lee has taken on an expanded role as CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of the company.

• Edible Arrangements LLC has appointed Mark Mele as its new Chief Development Officer.

 

Restaurant

• Dickey’s will be bringing restaurants to Manchester, UK.

• Dutch Bros. Coffee is beta testing mobile ordering at select locations. If successful, mobile ordering will be rolled out to most locations by the end of the year.

• Fat Brands and founder Andrew Wiederhorn have received a ‘Wells Notice’ indicating that the SEC has concluded their investigation into the company. Wiederhorn stepped down as CEO last year and has been under investigation since 2022 for wire fraud, money laundering, and tax evasion. It is not yet clear what the SEC concluded in their investigation.

• Focus Brands is rebranding the company to GoTo Foods. GoTo Foods represents the company as the “go-to choice” for fast food.

• McDonald’s is launching a new fashion collaboration with beauty company Nails.Inc. The collaboration will bring burger themed nail polish and McDonald’s nail toppers. The company is also launching a new sauce and packaging with the WcDonald’s branding that is inspired by anime.

• Mountain Mike’s Pizza has promoted Jim Metevier to CEO.

• Starbucks is facing 22 allegations of schedule regulation violations in Chicago and Philadelphia.

• Wingstop is planning to launch their $50 million proprietary digital platform MyWingstop in April. The company hopes that the platform will provide them with new data and create a more personalized experience for customers.
