• Big Y Foods Inc. reported Charles L. D’Amour will become Executive Chairman. Michael P. D’Amour has taken over as President and CEO, and Richard D. Bossie has been named Exec VP and COO.

• Buc-ee’s Ltd. announced it will open its first store location in North Carolina.

• Foxtrot Ventures Inc. recently opened a new store in Washington, DC.

• The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association named Tricia Greyshock as President and CEO, following the retirement of Jeff Rumachik.

• Publix Super Markets Inc. has opened its first store in Kentucky. The 55,701 sq. ft. location is in Louisville and includes a drive-thru Publix Pharmacy and an adjacent 3,200 sq. ft. Publix Liquors.

• Sprouts Farmers Markets will open three new stores in January in Coconut Grove and Port Charlotte, FL, and Burtonsville, MD. The company plans to open 34 store locations this year.

• Sprouts Farmers Markets recently promoted Daniel Spivey to National Director of Produce.

 

Retail

• Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. has appointed Carmelo Carrubba as Interim CFO, adding to his other duties as VP Strategy and Transformation.

• Burlington Stores, Inc. announced it plans to open at least 32 new stores in 2024.

• Chico’s FAS Inc. reported it has gone private. The retailer announced it was acquired by Sycamore Partners.

• CVS Health has appointed Senior VP of Finance and Interim CFO, Tom Cowhey, as its next CFO.

• Dollar General Corp. reported its Exec VP Store Operations, Steve Sunderland, will leave the company. Steve Deckard will take on the additional role.

• Genesco Inc. has appointed Chris Santaella as Exec VP and Chief Merchandising Officer of Journeys Group.

• O’Reilly Automotive Inc. plans to open 200 new store locations this year.

• Pure Hockey has acquired Behind the Mask, which operates three stores in Arizona. These are the first locations in the state for the retailer.

• Rothy’s Inc. has appointed Jenny Ming as CEO, taking over for Stephen Hawthornthwaite. The company also promoted Dayna Quanbeck to President, taking over for Roth Martin.

• Tailored Brands, Inc. has named co-CEO Peter Sachse as its sole CEO, effective February 4. At that time, co-CEO Bob Hull will move into a new role of Executive Chairman.

 

Restaurant

• Boston Market will now allow any business owner to become a franchisee without a buy-in or franchise fee. The company is looking to expand into existing businesses like gas stations and will provide branding, operational support, and the full Boston Market menu to any prospective operators.

• Dave & Buster’s is currently remodeling their kitchens in order drive food sales over entertainment sales.

• McDonald’s will begin selling a Double Big Mac at the end of the month that will feature double the meat and sauce of the original menu item.

• Mod Pizza has appointed Beth Scott as CEO. Former CEO Scott Svenson will remain with the company as Executive Chairman.

• Papa Johns is altering its international growth model by closing some underperforming stores in the UK for long-term success.

• The Habit Burger Grill has named Jason Triail as Culinary Innovation Director.

• Yum! Brands has named Joe Park as Chief Digital Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
