• Giant Eagle Inc. has partnered with Instacart to offer online order delivery in as fast as one hour.
• Island Pacific Supermarket has plans to open its first location in San Francisco, CA.
• Lidl US, LLC reported it will open its first store in the Bronx, New York area.
• Lowes Foods Inc. has acquired Foothills IGA Market. The store will be converted by summer 2024, and will be the company’s first location in Georgia.
• SpartanNash Company has promoted Bennett Morgan to the role of Exec VP, Chief Merchandising Officer.
• TravelCenters of America Inc. announced it has named Debi Boffa as new CEO. She succeeds Jonathan Pertchik.

• Books-A-Million Inc. has partnered with Walmart Stores Inc. to introduce same and next day delivery at all its locations nationwide as part of its Walmart GoLocal service.
• Brilliant Earth, LLC opened three new locations this month in CA, NY, and PA. These are the first stores located inside shopping malls for the retailer.
• Dollar General Corp. reported it has promoted Rod West to Exec VP of Global Supply Chain. Jeff Vaughan has been promoted to Senior VP, Inventory and Demand Management. Pooh Vichidvongsa has been promoted to VP, DMM Health and Beauty. Matthew Belcher has been promoted to VP, DMM Candy, Snacks, and Tobacco. Doug Pace has been promoted to VP Financial Planning and Analysis.
• e.l.f. Beauty, Inc. announced it will acquire skin care brand Naturium.
• Hanna Andersson recently launched its first loyalty marketing program.
• Nation’s Best Holdings LLC has named Jace Mattinson as the company’s new COO.
• Nation’s Best Holdings LLC has acquired Adams Building Supplies, Inc. with two locations in Georgia. These will be the first stores in the state for the company.
• Primark USA will open a new 37,000 sq. ft. location in Schaumburg, IL, on October 12.
• Under Armour Inc. reported it has named John Varvatos as its new Chief Design Officer.
• Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. announced its CEO, Roz Brewer, is stepping down. The retailer said Ginger Graham will serve as Interim CEO until a replacement is found.

• Arby’s has added venison and elk to their menu through a new burger.
• Bonchon has named Suzie Tsai as Chief Growth Officer.
• Chick-fil-A is planning to add “Mobile Thru” order pickup lanes to 300 restaurants by the end of the year. The new lanes allow customers to order through the app and retrieve their order through these dedicated lanes, skipping the often long lines at the restaurant.
• First Watch has named Matt Eisenacher as Chief Brand Officer.
• Velvet Taco has named William Davenport as CFO.
• Whataburger has opened a digital-only restaurant in Austin, TX. The location features no drive-thru or seating and orders are taken by app or cashless kiosk.
