• Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. announced it plans to open 25 new stores this year.

• Sheetz Inc. appointed Joe Sheetz to the position of Chairman.

• Tri Star Energy LLC announced a three-year plan to convert all Sudden Service and Southern Traders stores throughout Tennessee and Alabama to its Twice Daily concept.

• Wawa Inc. reported it plans to open its first convenience stores in Indiana and Ohio by 2025.

 

Retail

• Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. announced it plans to acquire Moosejaw Mountaineering from Walmart Stores Inc. The deal is expected to close in March.

• Glossier Inc. has opened a new 7,000 sq. ft. location in New York City, NY. The retailer plans to open two additional stores this spring, in Boston, MA, and Chicago, IL.

• Kendra Scott Design, Inc. announced it will open 12 new store locations in 2023. The new stores will be slightly larger at 2,000 sq. ft. than the average store at 1,600 sq. ft.

• Mango Inc. reported it plans to open 7 new stores this year in the U.S., and at least another dozen in other countries.

• Petco Health and Wellness Company, Inc. is expanding its retail partnership with Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd. Petco shop-in-shops will be available in 450 Canadian Tire stores across the country by this summer.

• Ricci Supply Co. Inc. announced that it has promoted Pat Moretti to President.

• Tuesday Morning Corp. reported it plans to close 264 store locations across 38 states.

• Uniqlo plans to open 10 stores in North America during the current fiscal year, followed by 20 to 30 each year after.

 

Restaurant

• Chipotle is looking to hire 15,000 employees by the end of March.

• Huey Magoo’s has opened a new location Wildwood, FL.

• KFC is removing 5 items from their menu and adding two new options to simplify operations. The company is also testing a new version of their chicken sandwich.

• Krystal and franchisee Argus Wiley have signed a franchise agreement that will bring 15 new locations to the Southeast.

• Shake Shack is testing a fine dining experience at 10 of their locations for a limited time. The event will promote their white truffle menu items.

• Starbucks will be launching a new lineup of olive oil infused coffees this spring.

• Subway has partnered with GenZ EV Solutions to build charging stations at select locations starting this year.

• Taco Bell opened a Cantina location in Hollywood, CA. This new location features more digital technology and hosts DJ parties in an effort to appeal to younger customers.

• The Cheesecake Factory is planning to open 22 new restaurants this year from their North Italia and Flower Child brands.

• The Dolly Llama has opened a new location in New York City, NY.
