• H-E-B said it plans to expand its distribution center in Temple, TX, adding an automated frozen distribution line.

• Wakefern Food Corp. announced the retirement of Brett Wing, and the promotion of Kevin McDonnell to President of Price Rite Marketplace. Danny Perriello has been named Director Retail Operations. Michael Day was promoted to Group VP Strategic Planning, Business Development and Member Services; and Dan Tarnopol was promoted to VP of Site Development, Real Estate and Member Services.

• At Home Group Inc. opened five new stores in June in CA, IL, NY, and PA.  A total of 252 locations.

• Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has named Laura Crossen as its new Senior VP of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. She will take over for John Barresi, who resigned from the company. The retailer also named Susie A. Kim as Senior VP of Treasury and Investor Relations.

• Cardinal Health has acquired The Bendcare Group.

• CVS Health reported it has left the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.

• Gap Inc. said it will open stores in India through a franchise agreement.

• It’Sugar reported it will open a 20,355 sq. ft. pop-up store in New York City’s Times Square in fall 2022.

• Kirkland’s Inc. is launching last-mile delivery and light assembly to customers. The service is expected to be rolled out by the end of July 2022.

• Lululemon Athletica Inc. reported it will open its first ever stores in Spain in the fall.

• Luxottica North America has opened a new LensCrafters store in Palo Alto, CA, with advanced digital technology.

• Mango Inc. announced it plans to open at least 20 stores in Canada during the next 10 years.

• United Hardware Distributing Co. recently launched a new e-commerce site for its Solon Springs Mercantile.

• Walmart Stores Inc. announced it plans to remodel its 25 stores in Puerto Rico.

• Walmart Stores Inc. added a new feature to its membership service. The retailer now offers in-home direct-to-fridge delivery.

• Another Broken Egg Café has opened a new location in Lexington, SC.

• Captain D’s Seafood has opened a new location in Spring Hill, FL.

• Cheba Hut has opened a new location in Bellingham, WA.

• Subway has modified their menu to include 12 curated sandwich options that the company hopes will streamline the sandwich making process.

• Tim Hortons has unveiled their drive-thru-only location design. The new smaller location is integrated with the company’s app and the first store will open by the end of the summer.

• YUM! Brands Inc. is in talks to transfer the ownership of their KFC restaurants in Russia. This is part of the company’s plan to exit the Russian marketplace completely.
