• Apollo Global Management LLC plans to acquire Cardenas Markets LLC.

• Cardenas Markets LLC reported it will acquire Rio Ranch Market, which operates 7 stores in California.

• EG America LLC will open Cumberland Farms stores in Florida and Alabama. It plans to expand in the gulf coast area over the next 2 years.

• The Giant Company plans to open two new stores in Pennsylvania. They include a 50,700 sq. ft. store in Philadelphia that will open on July 24, and a 49,000 sq. ft. store in Richboro on July 1.

• Kum & Go L.C. announced it is selling 14 of its convenience stores in Missouri.

• Refuel Operating Company, LLC has closed on the acquisition of Embark Energy LLC. The transaction includes 15 conveniences stores in the greater Austin, TX, market.

• SpartanNash Company has acquired Shop-N-Save Food Centers, which has 3 stores in northwestern Michigan that will be converted to Family Fare Supermarkets.

• The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC announced it plans to remodel it’s 25 stores in New York City.

• Wakefern Food Corp. reported Chris Lane, Exec VP, has left the company.

 

Retail

• Amazon.com Inc. reported a second Amazon Style store will open in fall 2022 in Columbus, OH.

• Blue Nile Inc. announced it is going public. It is expected to be listed on NASDAQ.

• BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. plans to open four new locations this year in Noblesville, IN; Wayne, NJ; New Albany, OH; and Midlothian, VA.

• Deckers Brands announced the promotion of Angela Ogbechie to the newly created role of Chief Supply Chain Officer. David Lafitte has decided to step down from his role as COO.

• Helzberg Diamond Shops Inc. reported that Beryl Raff, Chairman and CEO, is retiring effective July 1. Brad Hampton will succeed him as CEO and will continue serving as CFO in the interim until a successor is named. Julie Yoakum will assume the role of President, Chief Merchandising Officer. Mitch Maggart will assume the role of Exec VP, COO, and Chief Real Estate Officer.

• United Hardware Distributing Co. has launched its first e-commerce site, www.hardwarehank.com.

• US LBM Holdings, LLC announced that Wendy Radtke has joined the company as Exec VP and Chief Human Resources Officer.

• Wayfair LLC has opened the first store under its AllModern banner, in Lynnfield, MA. A second location is expected to open this fall in Dedham, MA.

• Chipotle is testing walk-up windows to be added to locations that cannot support Chipotlane drive-thrus.

• Fatburger has signed a new franchise agreement to bring 4 new locations to Tampa, FL.

• Hooters has promoted Bruce Skala to Chief Marketing Officer.

• Huey Magoo’s Restaurants LLC. has opened a new location in Winter Garden, FL.

• Jeremiah’s Italian Ice has opened a new location in Murfreesboro, TN.
