• Tony’s Fresh Market has been acquired by investment firm Apollo Global Management.

• Wawa Inc. announced it plans to nearly double its store count during the next 10 years, ramping up growth to about 100 stores annually.

• Wegmans Food Markets Inc. reported it plans to phase out single-use plastic bags companywide by the end of 2022.

• Wegmans Food Markets Inc. announced Marty Gardner plans to retire in May after more than 40 years with the company.

• Builders Hardware announced that it has been acquired by Trimlite.

• Champs Sports has opened a new retail concept, called Champs Sports Homefield, in Pembroke Pines, FL. The 35,000 sq. ft. store is the largest for the retailer.

• The Home Depot Inc. announced that Matt Carey has been promoted to Exec VP of Customer Experience. Fahim Siddiqui has been promoted to Exec VP and CIO.

• Lids Sports Group reported it is expanding in Mexico. The retailer plans to open four locations across the country in the coming months.

• Rite Aid Corporation reported it expects to close 145 unprofitable stores.

• Uniqlo said it plans to open 30 new stores annually in North America.

• Victoria’s Secret & Co. has launched a new gender-free brand, called Happy Nation, aimed at tweens ages 8 through 13. The collection is available online only.

• Mountain Mike’s Pizza has opened a new location in Daly City, CA.

• Outback Steakhouse Restaurants is now offering catering in 481 of their locations.

• Papa Johns has named Joe Sieve as Chief Restaurant Officer.
