• The Giant Company announced it will open three new stores in Philadelphia, PA, in December.
• The Kroger Co. announced it has named Juan De Paoli as its new Director of Private Brands.
• RaceTrac Petroleum Inc. recently opened its first store location in the state of Kentucky.
• Raley’s Family of Fine Stores announced the retirement of its COO, Kevin Konkel, effective Jan. 7, 2022.
• Sampson-Bladen Oil Company Inc. has acquired Rusher Oil Co.
• Southeastern Grocers recently opened two new Fresco y Más locations, in Tampa and Deltona, FL.

• 84 Lumber Co. recently opened its first store in Idaho.
• Ace Hardware Corp. has opened its first store in Mexico under a new franchise model.
• Amazon.com Inc. teamed up with Starbucks to open a Starbucks Pickup with Amazon Go in New York City. The companies plan to open more stores in 2022, starting with another location at The New York Times Building in New York City.
• Away Luggage reported it has named Luke Chatelain as its first Chief Digital Officer. The retailer also announced Melissa Weiss as Chief Marketing Officer and Charles Liu as COO.
• Citi Trends Inc. reported it plans to open approximately 40 stores next year. It also will remodel approximately 40 locations.
• CVS Health announced the promotion of Prem Shah to the new position of Chief Pharmacy Officer. He and Michelle Peluso have been named Co-Presidents of Retail. They will take over for Neela Montgomery who plans to leave the company at the end of the year.
• Dollar General Corp. plans to open 1,110 new stores in 2022, including its first stores in Idaho. The retailer also plans 1,750 store remodels.
• Dollar Tree Stores Inc. announced it will raise prices on most of its products from $1 to $1.25.
• Macy’s Inc. announced it plans to close 10 Macy’s department store locations in January 2022.
• The Neiman Marcus Group announced Chris Demuth has been promoted to Senior VP People and Corporate Philanthropy. Tiffin Jernstedt has been named Senior VP, Chief Communications Officer.
• R.P. Lumber Co. Inc. is acquiring Alexander Lumber Co.
• Toys “R” Us Ltd. will open a new store in mid-December at American Dream, in New Jersey.
• Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. announced that Anna Manukyan has been named Senior Director of Education.
• US LBM Holdings, LLC announced it has acquired Barrons. The company has also acquired Professional Builders Supply.
