• The Jim Pattison Group announced it plans to acquire Roth’s Fresh Markets.
• Kum & Go LLC has hired Brian Beckett as the company’s new CFO.
• Publix Super Markets Inc. is promoting three executives effective January 1, 2022. Kyle Davis will become VP of Distribution, Chris Haake will become VP of Replenishment and Purchasing, and Merriann Metz will add the Senior VP title to her current roles.
• TravelCenters of America LLC reported it plans to remodel more than 100 store locations in the next 18 months.
• United Natural Foods Inc. has partnered with DoorDash to offer online grocery delivery services.

• Chain Drug Marketing Association has elected John Galvan as its new Chairman of the board.
• CVS Health announced it has hired Joneigh Khaldun as VP and Chief Health Equity Officer.
• Express Inc. announced that Perry Pericleous, its Senior VP, CFO and Treasurer, will leave the company on November 12. The retailer’s President and COO Matthew Moellering will take on the CFO role while a permanent replacement is found.
• Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. has announced it is hiring 11,000 seasonal store employees.
• National Community Pharmacists Association announced Michele Belcher will be taking over as President for 2021 to 2022.
• Tailored Brands, Inc. announced the appointment of Brandy Richardson as its CFO, effective November 8, 2021.
• Target Corporation announced that it will partner with Apple Inc. to more than double the number of “Apple at Target” shop-in-shops, expanding from 17 to 36 stores in time for holiday shopping.
• Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. announced it plans to open 50 new stores in the United States per year.
• Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. will close five Walgreens stores in San Francisco in November in response to ongoing organized retail crime in the city.
• Walmart Stores Inc. has announced plans to build its largest grocery distribution center to date. The retailer will build a 720,000 sq. ft. high-tech distribution center in Spartanburg County, SC, in 2024.
• Windsor Fashions Inc. said it plans to open an additional 28 retail stores by the end of 2021. The retailer expects to open approximately 35 new stores in 2022.
Restaurant
• Buffalo Wild Wings is testing a robot that makes wings for use in their kitchens. The machine is a modified version of the burger making robot Flippy and will debut in restaurants next year.
• El Pollo Loco plans to open 15 new restaurants in Denver over the next five years.
• Greek From Greece – GFG Bakery has opened a new location in Philadelphia, PA.
• Jack in the Box is testing a new Impossible Foods burger at location in Phoenix, AZ. The company has also announced that seven separate franchising agreements have been reached to open 47 new stores over the next few years.
• JINYA Holdings, Inc. will be opening a new location in Buford, GA.
• Panera Bread now plans to become Climate Positive by 2050.
• Peter Piper Pizza has acquired 10 franchised Arizona locations. The company also plans to expand and add two new franchised locations in San Antonio next year.
• Portillo’s Hot Dogs has set their opening stock price at $20 for their IPO.
• Simply Southern Restaurant Group LLC has opened a new Chicken Salad Chick location in Roanoke, VA.
• Slim Chickens has opened a new location in Madison, AL.
• Straw Hat Pizza has signed a franchise agreement to open a new location in Bakersfield, CA.
