The Kroger Co. is remodeling its distribution center in Delaware, OH, adding robotics technology including an automated storage retrieval system.

Parkland Corporation has agreed to acquire Petroles Crevier Inc., a subsidiary of Crevier Group, a retail and wholesale fuels and lubricants business based in Montreal. The deal includes 174 gas stations.

Schnuck Markets Inc. has named Ted Schnuck as Exec VP of Supermarkets. Dave Peacock, President and COO, announced he will be leaving the company.

 

Retail

• Amazon.com Inc. announced Jeff Bezos has stepped down as CEO. Andy Jassy, former CEO of Amazon Web Services will take over the role.

• Belk Inc. announced Lisa Harper, CEO, has transitioned to Executive Chair. Nir Patel is being promoted to CEO. Don Hendricks will be promoted to President, and Chris Kolbe is joining the company as Exec VP, Chief Merchandising Officer.

• Bloomingdales announced the first location of its new store concept, “Bloomie’s”, will open on August 26 in Fairfax, VA.

• Builders FirstSource Inc. agreed to sell the assets of its standalone Eastern U.S. Gypsum Distribution Operations to L & W Supply.

• Dollar General Corp. reported that it expects to offer produce in up to 10,000 of its stores over the next several years.

• Dollar General Corp. appointed Albert Wu to the newly created position of VP, Chief Medical Officer.

• Gap Inc. said it will close all 81 of its company owned stores in the U.K. and Ireland by the end of September. The company will maintain its online business in both countries.

• Macy’s Inc. is hosting a national hiring event on July 15 at more than 500 Macy’s stores and fulfillment centers across the country.

• Mead Lumber Co. Inc. reported that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Heartland Building Center.

• US LBM Holdings, LLC reported that it has acquired Brand Vaughn Lumber. The company has also recently acquired Home Center Supply, a specialty building materials supplier in central Arizona.

• BJ’s Restaurant announced that Gregory Trojan will retire as CEO and President on September 1st. Chief Financial Officer Gregory S. Levin has been named to succeed as CEO.

• Captain D’s has promoted Bindi Menon as Chief Marketing Officer.

• Chipotle Mexican Grill is currently using TikTok as a hiring tool.

• Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is relaunching their Barbecue At Home ecommerce site that will include pre-selected boxes of meat products.

• Restaurant Brands International announced that Burger King President Chris Finazzo has left the company. The company has not yet named a replacement, but Burger King Chief Operating Officer Tom Curtis and Chief Marketing Officer Ellie Doty will handle the duties on an interim basis.

• Shipley Do-Nuts has hired Donna Josephson as Chief Marketing Officer and Kerry Leo as VP of Technology.

• SPB Hospitality has acquired J. Alexander’s Holdings LLC for approximately $220 million.

• Subway will be closing their stores early on July 12th in order to launch their new Eat Fresh Refresh menu options.

• WaBa Grill Franchise Corp has opened a new location in Riverside, CA.

• Walk-On’s Enterprises has named Luke DeRouen as Chief Marketing Officer
