• Bashas’ Inc. will hold a statewide job fair May 15, to fill up to 700 full and part-time positions in its distribution center and stores throughout Arizona.

• Delek US Holdings, Inc. will roll out touchless self-checkout to more than 70 of its convenience stores in Texas this summer.

• The Giant Company is planning four new stores in Philadelphia, including a 32,000 sq. ft. store in the Fashion District, a 46,000 sq. ft. store on Columbus Boulevard, a 50,000 sq. ft. store on North Broad Street, and a 40,000 sq. ft. location on South Broad Street.

• Sobeys Inc. is soon opening its third FreshCo location in Alberta, Canada.

• United Natural Foods Inc. has promoted Matt Whitney to Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer.

 

Retail

• Amazon.com Inc. is opening its first robotics fulfillment center in the state of Louisiana. The 650,000 sq. ft. facility will be in Shreveport.

• At Home Group Inc. has agreed to be acquired by private-equity firm, and is going private. The retailer plans to open 12 to 15 stores across the country this year.

• Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. has appointed Jonathan Bennett as Exec VP and Chief Commercial Officer.

• Builders FirstSource Inc. announced that it has acquired John’s Lumber Co. Inc.

• Canada Goose Inc. announced it will open its first store in California with a new location in Costa Mesa.

• Eddie Bauer Inc. announced it will be acquired by Authentic Brands Group.

• Genesco Inc. has named Parag Desai its Senior VP, Chief Strategy and Digital Officer.

• Gypsum Management & Supply, Inc. plans to acquire Westside Building Materials Corp.

• L Brands, Inc. announced that it plans to separate the company into two independent, public companies: Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret. The transaction is expected to be completed in August 2021.

• Macy’s Inc. has committed to $235 million to improve the surrounding area of its flagship Herald Square store in New York City.

• Ollie’s Bargain Outlet has opened its 400th store, in Springfield, VT. The new location is the first Ollie’s in the state of Vermont, officially expanding the company’s footprint into 26 states. • Primark USA will open two new store locations in Tysons, VA, and Valley Stream, NY.

• Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. has appointed Ellery Fisher as Group VP of E-Commerce and Digital.

• Sundance Holdings Group, LLC has opened a 3,920 sq. ft. store in downtown Westport, CT. It is Sundance’s first location in the Northeast and one of three overall the company will open this year.

• Tuesday Morning Corp. announced it has named Fred Hand as CEO.

• Walmart Stores Inc. announced it will acquire MeMD, a multi-specialty telehealth provider.

 

Restaurant

• Artichoke Basille’s Pizza has opened a new location in Phoenix, AZ.

• BurgerFi has hired Karl Goodhew as Chief Technology Officer.

• Captain D’s Seafood has opened a new location in Gun Barrel City, TX.

• Crave Hot Dogs & Barbecue is opening a new location in Apopka, FL.

• Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has opened their first location in Tokyo, Japan. They are planning to open a second location this fall.

• Dine Brands Global, Inc. has named Vance Chang as Chief Financial Officer, effective June 14th. The company has also promoted Allison Hall to Chief Accounting Officer and Senior VP.

• Dog Haus International LLC is opening a new location in Chicago, IL.

• International Coffee & Tea LLC has named Sanjiv Razdan as President of the Americas and India.

• PDQ has expanded their partnership with Best Buddies International to create hiring opportunities for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The company has also launched their first app and mobile loyalty program.

• The Wendy’s Company will be opening their first restaurant in the UK in June. The brand has not operated restaurants in the market since 2000.
