•  Amazon.com Inc. is working on its second proposed Amazon Fresh location in the Northeast, in Plainview, NY.

• Couche-Tard Inc. is planning to sell 355 stores in the United States and Canada, including 49 locations in Oklahoma to Casey’s General Stores Inc.

• EG America LLC has entered into an agreement with Mercury Fuel Service Inc. to acquire nine company-operated convenience stores in Connecticut.

• The Fresh Market Inc. has hired Ted Frumkin as Group VP of Real Estate, Development and Construction.

• Loblaw Companies Limited announced President Sarah Davis will retire on May 6 and be succeeded by Executive Chairman Galen Weston, who will become Loblaw’s Chairman, President and CEO. Robert Sawyer has been named as COO. Darren Myers, CFO, will leave the company May 6 also.

• Sprouts Farmers Markets has opened a new distribution center in Aurora, CO, the first in the state.

 

Retail

• Designer Brands Inc. will close 65 stores over the next four years, including 27 locations in 2021

• Do it Best Corp. has named Josh Ratcliff as its Division Manager of Forest Products.

• Dollar General Corp. announced Rod West has been promoted to Senior VP Distribution. The retailer announced that its Exec VP of Global Supply Chain, Mike Kindy, will be retiring, effective April 15. Tony Zuazo will be taking over the role.

• Ferragamo USA announced Donald Kohler is leaving the company. Micaela le Divelec Lemmi will take on his role in the interim.

• PVH Corp. announced the appointment of Alegra O’Hare as Chief Marketing Officer, Tommy Hilfiger effective April 12, 2021.

• R.P. Lumber Co. Inc. said that it is acquiring the assets of Stock + Field. The transaction includes 25 farm and ranch retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.

• Shoe Carnival Inc. announced Mark Worden as its next President and CEO, effective September 30, 2021. Mr. Worden will succeed Cliff Sifford, who will continue to serve as Vice Chairman.

• TechStyle Fashion Group announced it will open 24 new Fabletics stores across the nation in 2021.

• True Value Company announced Jeff Olson will join the company as the new CFO. Deb O’Connor is retiring.

 

Restaurant

• Cheba Hut Franchising Inc. will be opening a new location at the end of the month in Orlando, FL.

• Chipotle Mexican Grill is planning to add a new location in Surrey BC. This will be the company’s first Canadian location since 2018. Chipotle will also be opening their first Canadian chipotlane later this summer.

• Darden Restaurants Inc. is raising the minimum pay floor for hourly workers to $10 per hour including tip. The company will also be rolling out $17 million for one-time bonuses.

• Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has opened their first location in Singapore.

• Pieology Pizzeria has reworked their rewards app to improve experience and provide customers with more options to redeem rewards points.

• PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is planning to develop new location in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi over the next three years.

• Pokeworks has hired Michael Walters as COO, Steve Heeley as Chief Marketing Officer, and Larry Sidoti as Chief Development Officer.

• Walk-On’s Enterprises has opened a new location in Fort Smith, AR.
