• Family Express Corp. is acquiring six Freedom Express convenience stores from Freedom Oil Company in Indiana.
• Festival Foods announced Jeff Main has joined company as VP of Information Technology.
• The Kroger Co. announced the retirement of Mike Donnelly, Exec VP and COO, effective later this spring.
• Parkland USA has entered into an agreement to acquire Conrad & Bischoff Inc. The transaction includes the 58 retail locations.
• Presidente Supermarkets Inc. plans to open seven more grocery stores across Florida in 2021, with a focus on the tri-county area of Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties.
• TravelCenters of America Inc. is selling its Quaker Steak & Lube business.
• Whole Foods Market Inc. has entered the state of Wyoming, with the completion of its acquisition of independent supermarket Jackson Whole Grocer.
• Yesway and Allsup’s Convenience Stores Inc. will carry CBD products from The Alkaline Water Co. Inc. in about 365 store locations.

• Bridgestone Retail Operations LLC has named Robert Johnson as VP of Store Operations.
• Chico’s FAS Inc. announced it will close 40 to 45 stores this year and plans to remodel 50 Chico’s locations adding in-store Soma shops.
• Dollar Tree Stores Inc. plans to open 600 stores and renovate 1,250 Family Dollar locations this year, with the openings consisting of 400 Dollar Tree stores and 200 Family Dollar stores.
• L Brands, Inc. announced it will close 30 to 50 Victoria’s Secret Stores locations this year.
• The retailer will open 49 Bath & Body Works locations in the U.S. in 2021, and one in Canada.
• Macy’s, Inc. announced John Harper, COO, will depart the company effective August 1, 2021. Laura Miller has been appointed CIO, succeeding Naveen Krishna, who is leaving the company. Chuck DiGiovanna has been appointed to Senior VP Real Estate, succeeding Douglas Sesler, who is leaving the company.
• Maurices Inc. announced George Goldfarb is retiring as CEO. He will move into the role of Chairman Emeritus and will be succeeded by David Kornberg, who has been named President and CEO.
• Michaels Stores Inc. said that it has entered into a purchase agreement with private equity firm Apollo Global Management Inc. that will take the chain private.
• Nike Inc. announced Ann Hebert has resigned from the company.
• Paper Source has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and plans to close at least 11 stores.
• Sephora USA Inc. will open 60 freestanding stores across the Pacific Northwest, Florida, Texas, Los Angeles, and Nashville this year. The retailer also plans to open 200 locations in Kohl’s Corporation stores.
• The Sherwin-Williams Co. announced that President and COO David Sewell is leaving the company.
• Target Corporation is teaming up with Apple Inc. to open mini-Apple shops in 17 Target stores this month, with more to open in the fall.
• Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. announced a new CBD brand, Happy Dance, is now available on Ulta.com and in 101 stores. The retailer will soon begin expansion to 550 Ulta locations.
• Your Building Centers Inc. has acquired Palmerton Lumber Company located in Palmerton, PA.

• Chipotle Mexican Grill has launched its own makeup collection.
• Famous Dave’s will be opening a new line-service model later this year.
• Farmer Boys Food Inc. has opened a new location in Gilbert, AZ.
• Freddy’s Frozen Custards & Steakburgers has been acquired by Thompson Street Capital Partners.
• McDonald’s Corporation has announced a partnership with Beyond Meat on their McPlant burger line.
