• Schnuck Markets Inc. has teamed up with DoorDash for delivery of prepared meals.

 

Retail

• Apple Inc. announced all of its U.S. retail stores are now open in some capacity for the first time since closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic began.

• The Disney Store announced it will close at least 60 Disney Stores throughout North America this year.

• Ralph Lauren Corporation is now offering a subscription apparel rental service.

• Sephora USA is launching buy-online-pickup-in-store service at all freestanding stores by April.

• Walmart Stores Inc. said that it’s dropping the $35 minimum order requirement for its Express delivery service.

 

Restaurant

• Alamo Drafthouse has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to complications from COVID-19 and the company will be closing some underperforming locations.

• Coolgreens has partnered with a new engineering firm to develop flexible store plans that can be adjusted to fit into new spaces.

• Shake Shack is adding exterior pick-up windows to stores in an effort to drive digital and delivery orders away from third-party companies and towards Shake Shack’s own system.

• Steak ‘n Shake has used the closed dining rooms of OCVID-19 to fully transition restaurants to a quick-service model.  The chain will remove table service and all transactions will be initiated at a kiosk.
