 The Kroger Co. has identified Phoenix, AZ, as the location for an upcoming Ocado automated customer fulfillment center. Construction is slated to start this year, and the center is expected to open in two years.

 

Retail

 Belk Inc. said it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

 CVS Health said it has already administered nearly two million COVID-19 vaccines, and has the capacity to administer 20 to 25 million shots per month.

 Godiva Chocolatier Inc. will close all of its locations in North America by the end of the first quarter of this year.

 L’Occitane Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

 Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. announced it has administered more than 1 million COVID-19 vaccines.

 Walmart Stores Inc. expects to be able to deliver 10 million to 13 million doses of coronavirus vaccine per month at full capacity.

 

Restaurant

 California has lifted restrictions on outdoor dining. Previously, the state only allowed takeout and delivery service for restaurants.

 Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop Inc. will be launching a ghost kitchen in Baltimore through their partnership with REEF’s Neighborhood Kitchen.

 Chipotle Mexican Grill is testing a car side pick-up option at select restaurants in California.

 CiCi’s Pizza has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to complications from COVID-19.

 Darden Restaurants Inc. will be offering up to 4 hours of paid time off for employees who wish to get both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The company will not require employees to be vaccinated.

 Fat Brands, Inc. has launched online ordering for several of their brands including Fatburger and Hurricane Grill and Wings.
