Supermarket, Grocery, & C-Store
• Global Partners LP has signed an agreement to purchase the retail fuel and convenience-store assets of Consumers Petroleum of Connecticut Inc. The acquisition includes 27 company-operated gas stations with Wheels-branded c-stores in Connecticut.
• Jay Petroleum Inc. has purchased most of the assets of Ottawa Oil Co. Inc. The purchase includes 22 Party Mart convenience stores.
• Metro Inc. has named Pierre Boivin as Chairman of the board, succeeding Réal Raymond, who is retiring.
• Murphy USA Inc. has agreed to acquire QuickChek Corp.
• Offen Petroleum Inc. has acquired Ozark Mountain Energy, a motor fuel distributor.
• Parkland USA has purchased the assets of Story Distributing Co., operators of Casey’s Corner Convenience Stores. Parkland USA has also recently acquired Carter Oil Co.
• Publix Super Markets Inc. has opened a new store prototype in Tampa, FL, featuring a Publix Aprons Cooking School kiosk in the center store, self-checkouts, and a large focus on grab-and-go fresh foods.
Retail
• Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has entered into an agreement to sell Cost Plus World Market to a private equity firm. The agreement includes 243 stores. It is expected that Cost Plus will continue to operate as a stand-alone retail brand.
• Foot Locker Inc. has appointed Himanshu Parikh as Senior VP, CIO.
• Aura Hardwoods Lumber Co. Inc. has been acquired by Hardwoods Distribution Inc.
• Ikea North America announced that it would no longer offer its print catalog.
• La-Z-Boy Inc. announced the planned retirement of Stephen Krull, VP, General Counsel and Secretary, effective August 31, 2021.
• Lululemon Athletica Inc. announced it will begin selling footwear in early 2022.
• Saks Inc. announced Barneys New York will open two in-store boutique locations in the first quarter of 2021, in Saks Fifth Avenue’s stores in Manhattan, NY, and Greenwich, CT.
• Urban Outfitters, Inc. announced the promotion of Melanie Marein-Efron to CFO.
• Westlake Ace Hardware plans to open a new store in Chapel Hill, NC.

• BurgerFi has been purchased by Opes Acquisition Corp.
• Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. announced that CFO Jill Golder will be retiring at the end of 2020. Doug Couvillion will serve as the interim CFO.
• Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc. has promoted Carissa De Santis to CIO.
• Golden Chick opened their 200th location in Allen, TX.
• Inspire Brands has officially completed the acquisition of Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc.
• Marco’s Pizza has signed a new franchise agreement in Texas that will bring 20 new stores to the state by 2025.
• Starbucks Corporation will raise their wages to $15 an hour by the 2023.
