Supermarket, Grocery, & C-Store
• Casey’s General Stores Inc. has agreed to acquire Buck’s Inc., owner of Bucky’s Convenience Stores.
• EG America LLC has entered into an agreement to acquire Schrader Oil Co., which operates 18 convenience stores and gas stations in northern Colorado.
• Parkland USA has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of Sevier Valley Oil Co. Inc. The deal will expand the On the Run convenience-store brand in the United States.
• Whole Foods Market Inc. plans to open its first store in Montana. Construction is underway and is expected to take about a year to complete.
Retail
• Amazon.com Inc. will open a supply chain facility in Republic, MO. The new fulfillment center is anticipated to launch in 2021.
• Builders FirstSource Inc. reported that it has purchased the assets of Kansas City Building Supply.
• CVS Health announced Karen Lynch as its next President and CEO, taking over from Larry Merlo who is retiring on Feb. 1, 2021.
• Petco Animal Supplies Inc. announced it has filed for an initial public offering.
• Recreational Equipment Inc. will open its first location in the state of Wyoming, in Jackson, in summer 2021. The 15,000 sq. ft. store will have a heavy focus on service, with a full-service bike, ski, and snowboard shop. On November 13, a 23,000 sq. ft. store will open in Boca Raton, FL. In addition, the retailer plans to open a store in Tampa, FL, in 2021.
• Target Corporation and Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. announced a deal to open 1,000 sq. ft. makeup and skincare shops inside of hundreds of Target stores across the country.
• Tuesday Morning Corp. has filed a reorganization plan that includes the sale of its local real estate, a new bank loan and a path for how it will emerge as a publicly-traded company when it exits bankruptcy in December. The retailer closed about 200 stores while in bankruptcy and will emerge with about 500 stores.
• VF Corporation will acquire Supreme, a streetwear brand with 12 stores.
Restaurant
• Another Broken Egg Café is opening a new location in Jacksonville, FL.
• Chick-fil-A Inc. has launched their nationwide online ordering program. Previously only catering meals could be ordered online, but now everyday meals are available.
• Dairy Queen is bringing a new location to Hammond, IN.
• Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is offering pre-prepared holiday meals through their Dickey’s At Home subscription.
• Dog Haus International LLC is opening a new location Houston, TX.
• Huey Magoo’s Restaurants LLC is opening a new location in Coral Springs, FL.
• McDonald’s Corporation will be launching a new line of plant based products in 2021. The items will go under the ‘McPlant’ moniker and will feature burgers, chicken, and sausage.
• MooYah Burgers & Fries is bringing 10 new franchised locations to Dallas, TX.
• Mountain Mike’s Pizza has opened a new location in Santa Maria, CA.
• Pizza Hut is launching two new pizzas that are made with Beyond Meat sausage. This is the company’s first foray into plant-based meats.
• Red Lobster has launched gift boxes filled with cheddar biscuits for the holiday season.
• Simply Southern Restaurant Group LLC has named Marianna Magee as Director of Marketing and Jon Musser as Director of Supply Chain.
• The Hummus & Pita Co. is opening a new location in New York, NY.
