• Ahold-Delhaize plans to remodel approximately 60 additional Stop & Shop stores in 2021.
• Circle K Stores Inc. is expanding its presence in Northwest Florida with plans to open convenience store locations, as well as remodel others.
• Giant Food LLC announced Irfan Badibanga has joined the company as Senior VP of Operations.
• H-E-B recently opened its first location Lubbock, TX. The 122,000 sq. ft. store offers a Sporting Zone shop stocked with Texas Tech and local high school apparel and accessories, a True Texas BBQ, and a fuel station with car wash.
• Majors Management LLC has acquired 14 Star Stop convenience stores and a portfolio of dealer supply accounts from Regal Oil Inc.
• Murphy USA Inc. plans to open up to 50 new locations per year beginning in 2021.
Retail
• Boise Cascade LLC promoted Jill Twedt to the position of Senior VP.
• Genesco Inc. announced that Melvin G. Tucker, Senior VP and CFO, is resigning. In the interim, Mimi E. Vaughn, President and CEO, will assume the responsibilities.
• The Home Depot Inc. has signed a lease to move into a store in Manhattan, NY, which spans more than 120,000 sq. ft. over four floors. The retailer plans to close a nearby store once the new location opens.
• Kohl’s Corporation announced it plans to open a new store in downtown Napa, CA. The new location will be 55,000 sq. ft. and is set to open in the first quarter of 2022.
• Lululemon Athletica Inc. announced Celeste Burgoyne will become President of the Americas. The company also announced the hire of Andre Maestrini to serve as Exec VP, International and Stacia Jones as VP, Global Head of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action.
• Pier 1 Imports Inc. announced it is opening a new online store after closing all its brick-and-mortar stores earlier this year.
• TechStyle Fashion Group expects to double its Fabletics store count to 100 stores within the next couple of years.
• T.W. Perry announced it has recently acquired Peoples Supply Co. Inc.
• Under Armour Inc. announced it would exit between 2,000 and 3,000 wholesale doors in North America.
• US LBM Holdings, LLC has acquired Zeeland Holdings, LLC, with six locations in Michigan and Northern Indiana.
• Walmart Stores Inc. announced it is testing using store locations as online fulfillment centers. Two stores have been converted, with two more to come soon.
• Westlake Hardware Inc. announced Tony Jones has been promoted to VP of Finance and Controller. He replaces the retiring Pam Samulcek.
Restaurant
• Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar has opened a new location in Howell, NJ.
• Aurify Brands LLC has purchased Maison Kayser’s New York City locations and plans to convert 10 of the restaurants into Le Pain Quotidien locations.
• Blaze Pizza has opened a new location in Las Vegas, NV.
• Friendly’s is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The chain expects all their locations to remain open.
• Inspire Brands has acquired Dunkin Donuts in an $11.3 billion deal.
• McDonald’s Corporation hired Reginald J. Miller as VP and Global Chief Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer. The company also announced the return of the McRib limited menu item starting on December 2.
• Noodles & Company has hired Carl Lukach as Chief Financial Officer.
• Panera Bread is testing beer and wine at five of their franchised locations in Kansas City.
• Wingstop is testing bone-in chicken thighs at select restaurants. The move is meant to help offset the volatile prices of chicken wings. The company also opened a new location Las Vegas, NV.
