 MAPCO Express Inc. partnered with DoorDash to offer on-demand delivery from stores primarily in Tennessee, Alabama, as well as in Mississippi, Arkansas, and Kentucky.

 Southeastern Grocers announced a partnership with ScriptDrop that will begin offering contactless prescription delivery options to consumers.

 

Retail

 Gap Inc. is closing stores in California at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center, Stonestown Galleria, and its flagship store on Market Street.

 Recreational Equipment Inc. announced it is closing its new corporate office in Bellevue, WA, and spreading headquarters operations to multiple sites across the Seattle area.

 

Restaurant

 Domino’s Pizza Inc will hire 20,000 new team members to work in their supply chain centers and restaurants amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

 Greens Restaurant Group LLC has been pushing its digital platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic and it is now testing out a ghost kitchen concept in New York.

 Muscle Maker Inc. has partnered with REEF kitchens to open up two delivery only ghost kitchens this year.

 NPC International Inc. has reached an agreement with YUM! Brands Inc. to close 300 of their franchised Pizza Hut locations and sell the majority of their remaining locations.

 Pizza Inn has partnered with RetailStack to deliver a new point of sale to its restaurants that will improve operation efficiency.

 Pollo Tropical has upgraded their mobile app to allow for contactless order and pickup.

 Potbelly Corporation has taken out a $10 million PPP loan after returning the original loan money they took out in April. The company reasoned that they returned the initial funds over fear that others would not have access to a loan, but they decided to take the loan when they realized that money was left in the fund.

 Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has donated over $350,000 and thousands of chicken fingers to local hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 Taco Bell is planning to open “Taco Bell Go Mobile,” stores early next year. The stores are smaller and will feature two drive-thru lanes. One lane will operate in a traditional manner and the other will focus on mobile ordering and pick-up.

 US Foods Inc. has launched the US Foods Ghost Kitchens program. The program will help restaurant owners set up their own delivery only ghost kitchen spaces by providing proprietary technology and detailed decision making and marketing support.
