• Amazon.com Inc. announced its cashierless stores, called Amazon Go, will soon accept cash payments. Customers can add money to their Amazon account using cash at participating retail locations through the Amazon Cash program.

• Dollar General Corp. announced that customers are now able to complete Western Union money transfers at all of its Dollar General stores.

• Walmart Stores Inc. has announced a new partnership with Google to launch voice-assisted grocery shopping. Walmart shoppers will be able to place orders for pickup or home delivery through Google Assistant.

• Walmart Stores Inc. is partnering with KidBox, an online subscription-based service for children’s apparel.

 

Grocery/Convenience

• The Kroger Co. has announced plans to launch an autonomous grocery delivery service in the Houston market. The new service will first comprise a fleet of manual and self-driving Toyota Prius cars with Nuro designed unmanned cars to be introduced into the concept later this year.

• Pilot Flying J has launched a new mobile app geared toward the professional driver, auto traveler and RV customer. The updated app allows users to select their driver profile and features are then customized to meet the drivers’ needs based upon geographic location, preferred stops and amenities.

• TravelCenters of America LLC has named Cord Financial Services as its exclusive ATM solutions provider for TA, Petro Shopping Centers, TA Express and Quaker Steak & Lube locations.

 

Drug/Health/Beauty

• CVS Health is now offering same-day delivery nationwide. CVS will partner with Shipt, a Target company, to deliver prescriptions the same day they’re filled. The service will cost $7.99.

• Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. is teaming up with Narvar Concierge to offer FedEx OnSite services, which allows customers to drop off and pick up FedEx packages.
