Earlier this month, Sprouts Farmers Markets announced CEO Amin Maredia will leave the company on December 30. The company has retained an executive search to identify a replacement for Maredia, and in the meantime, company CFO Brad Lukow and President and COO Jim Nielsen will lead Sprouts as co-CEOs on an interim basis.

Maredia became CEO in August 2015 and oversaw continued expansion of the company, which grew by approximately 100 units during his tenure and passed the 300-store mark earlier this year. Sprouts currently operates 315 stores in 19 states. In the most recent earnings release, the company highlighted two-year comparable store sales of +6.1% for the third quarter.

For 2019, Chain Store Guide estimates the company will add another 30 locations, including stores in the following locations in Q1 of 2019:

Carlsbad, CA Las Vegas, NV
Fontana, CA Lynnwood, WA
Clearwater, FL Sugar Land, TX
Naples, FL
