As part of its February Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Tops Markets LLC will close 10 stores by the end of November. Earlier this summer, the company won approval from the court to close an unspecified number of stores that it deemed necessary to succeed with its turnaround plan. The details are now in place, and the closures will account for approximately 6% of the total store count, as seen in the graphic below.
The 10 stores slated for closing are:
2120 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY | 4141 South Salina Street, Syracuse, NY |
710 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY | 175 N. Winton Rd., Rochester, NY |
6720 Pittsford/Palmyra Rd., Fairport, NY | 33 Forgham Street, Lyons, NY |
381 Hamilton Street, Geneva, NY | 909 West 1st Street S., Fulton, NY |
299 S. Main Street, Elmira, NY | 622 Lake Flower Ave., Saranac Lake, NY |
With the closing of the stores, Tops noted that the majority of its stores are profitable and that it expects the restructuring to be complete in the near term and to successfully emerge from bankruptcy.
