Earlier in June, Sprouts Farmers Market opened its 300th store, and in doing so, expanded into South Carolina for the first time. Opening more stores in new states has become a habit for the Phoenix-based chain.

Chain Store Guide data shows that over the last 10 years, Sprouts has grown from a company with less than 40 locations to a chain with national ambitions that’s on pace for 315 stores in 2018, according to our projections. In addition to South Carolina, Sprouts will add Pennsylvania and Washington to the list of states within which it does business in the third quarter of the year.

Given its history of expansion in the last 5 years, as seen below, CSG can project that, barring a sea change, Sprouts will add another 30 units to its portfolio and approach the 350-store mark next year.

Chain Store Guide provides its partners and clients with high quality sales, store count and locations data that captures the past, present and future of the grocery industry.  Accurate data and transparent pricing – Chain Store Guide’s commitment to our customers.
