Diplomat Pharmacy has named Dave Loschinskey as its new CIO.

McKesson Canada announced the appointment of Dianne Carmichael as President Payer Markets and Head of Corporate Strategy and Business Development.

Rite Aid Corporation announced it has named Kermit Crawford as President and COO.  Mr. Crawford was most recently with Walgreens Boots Alliance.

Smith Drug Company has named Joe Willaman to the newly created position of Associate VP Strategic Accounts.

Perfumania has received legal approval to move forward with its reorganization strategy. The company will continue to operate as a privately-held company, and will close underperforming stores.

 

Mergers and Acquisitions

Diplomat Pharmacy has acquired 8th Day Software and Consulting.

Metro Inc. announced a deal to acquire the Jean Coutu Group. The deal includes more than 400 Canadian drug stores and a distribution center.

Walgreens Boots Alliance has obtained approval to acquire 1,932 Rite Aid stores. Store changes are expected be completed by spring 2018.

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. has announced the launch of YourGoodSkin, a skincare line developed to help prevent skin problems before they occur. The products will be available exclusively at select Walgreens stores and on Walgreens.com.

 

Technology News

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. announced plans to establish a “technology center of excellence” at its tech office in Chicago, IL. The number of employees will double from 300 to 600.
