As we work our way through the final quarter of 2017, Chain Store Guide has assembled the Discount Dashboard for the third quarter.

On the board, CSG polling data shows that overall consumer spending sentiment seems to have cooled over the preceding three months, which may be shifting that spend to the discount and dollar stores.

Census Bureau figures show that sales for warehouse club and superstores increased throughout the summer on a year-over-year basis. And looking at same store sales data, all seven companies (even Target) posted gains over the same quarter a year ago in their most recently reported quarter.
