Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd. announced that Beth Newlands Campbell has been named as its new President.

Mergers and Acquisitions

CVS Health announced it will be acquiring 20 Fagen Pharmacy locations in northwest Indiana and northeast Illinois. Eight of the locations will be converted to CVS Pharmacy stores and 12 will be closed.

 

Industry Insight

CVS Health has opened five new MinuteClinic locations in New York City. They are all are located inside of existing CVS store locations.

e.l.f. Cosmetics, Inc. is expanding in major retailers. The brand announced it will be getting a 20% increase in its linear footage in Walmart stores. This follows a recent deal that helped the brand gain 50% more shelf space in Target stores.

Sephora USA has opened a new concept, called Sephora Studio, on Newbury Street in Boston, MA. At 2,000 sq. ft., it is the brand’s smallest store in North America. The store includes a “beauty studio” that offers on-demand, one-on-one services.

Vitamin Shoppe Industries launched a product subscription service called Spark Auto Delivery.

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. announced the relocation of its pharmacy operations support center in Tempe, AZ. The company will move operations to a new 60,000 sq. ft. support center in Chandler, AZ. The new support center is expected to be operational by this fall.

 

Real Estate

Bluemercury Inc. has introduced its new 2,700 sq. ft. flagship store in New York. The company’s largest location will also serve as its new innovation hub, accommodating a 50-person digital team.
