The data is in, and Chain Store Guide has pulled up the new Casual Dining Dashboard for the second quarter. On the dashboard, we see US full-service restaurant sales were flat in February but up 5% in March from the previous year.
Comp sales for the quarter were a mixed bag at our bellwether establishments. Outback, Buffalo Wild Wings and Chili’s all bounced back, with the first two recording positive percentage gains. Same-store sales growth slowed a bit at Olive Garden, and Applebee’s sales continue to plummet.
Also on the board, the Indy Spotlight falls on Jinya Ramen Bar, a California-based concept that CSG projects will have increased its store count by 50% when we reach an end to 2017.
Next month, keep an eye out for the Q2 QSR & Fast Casual Dashboard.
