• CVS Health announced the launch of CVS Pay, the company’s own end-to-end mobile payment solution.
• Walgreens became the first retailer with store locations to integrate Android Pay with its loyalty program.

• Wayfair, an online retailer of home-based goods, is now offering Apple Pay on the Web, which integrates secure and private payments in Safari on most Apple devices. The move eliminates the need for customers to re-enter shipping and billing information, enabling a smother and quicker checkout process.
Foodservice
• SUBWAY has acquired certain assets from the Canada-based firm Avanti Commerce in a continued effort to enhance its digital presence. Included in the deal is a 20-person team based in Vancouver that will assist in enhancing mobile ordering and payment options for the sandwich chain.
• Taylor Gourmet, an 11-unit operator of premium sandwiches in the greater DC area, uses dispatch for third-party delivery options to help keep up with demand.
Supermarket & Convenience
• Rutters Farm Stores is extending a partnership with NCR’s open source OPTIC solution to enable outdoor payment terminals at its gasoline pumps.
• Shell is rolling out an iPad-based point-of-sale system at a number of dedicated convenience store locations. The network will connect payments made at the gasoline pump outside to iPad registers inside the actual store.
• The United Family is implementing the VeriBalance currency management platform and vbInSight corporate reporting software from Balance Innovation. The platform will help United better manage its cash flow currency throughout its network of multiple store banners including Market Street, Amigos, and United Supermarkets.
