Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage opened its newest location in Clive, Iowa on February 9^th, its first in the state. The 14,000 square foot store opened in the same parking lot of a former Dahl’s grocery store on Hickman Road. The store is slightly larger than an average Natural Grocers location and features an expansive organic concept including produce, prepared food, pet food, and natural cleaning products.

The Des Moines market is diverse, led by the hometown regional chain Hy-Vee. However, specialty grocers Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Aldi also have a presence there. Recently, the Fresh Market opened in the fall of 2015, while Fresh Thyme Farmers Market – a new ‘natural’ supermarket concept – is expected to open in 2016.
