Gap Inc. is using software-defined routers from Vipeta Inc. that will allow Gap to route its traffic over the Internet with encrypted connections to ensure security.

 

Drug Stores

Walgreens is expanding the Apple Pay functionality it provides to customers. Enhancements include seamless integration with members’ Balance Rewards cards as well as loyalty point redemption.

 

Discount/GM

Gordmans Stores, Inc. is using Oracle’s Xstore POS to increase the speed of the checkout process, reduce manual entry for coupons, and provide access to real-time inventory levels across both the store and distribution center network.

Pier I Imports has partnered with a provider of real-time omnichannel personalization to enhance its customer experience. Certona plans to bring a “hyper-personalized omnichannel experience” to Pier I shoppers.

Sleepy’s, The Mattress Professionals will integrate Ingenico Group smart terminals to securely accept EMV credit and debit cards and NFC/contactless mobile payments inside all company stores by the end of 2015.


Grocery

Westside Market is getting into the grocery delivery game with Instacart. The services will allow delivery to customers in the Upper West Side neighborhood.


Home Center

Ace Hardware Corp. has endorsed Epicor as the POS provider for its network of over 4,800 hardware cooperative locations.

Z Gallerie will integrate a full suite of Aptos retail solutions into its omnichannel retail operations. The solutions will help enable Z Gallerie to determine customer needs, wants, and purchasing behavior while also expanding digital e-commerce capabilities.
