King’s Seafood Company has restructured its operations under which the company has been split into two groups: King’s Signature Restaurants and King’s Fish House Group. Bowlmor AMF announced that it has entered into an agreement with Brunswick Corporation to acquire Brunswick’s bowling center business. Bowlmor AMF expects to operate the business as a stand-alone entity, retaining the retail branding and maintaining existing locations. The transaction is expected to close in approximately 90 days.
Cardiff International Inc. announced the finalization of its acquisition of Romeo’s NY Pizza.
Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. announced it signed a definitive agreement to purchase 21 BURGER KING restaurants from Kessler Group, Inc. located in or around Rochester, NY and in the “Southern Tier” region of Western New York State. The transaction is expected to close by the end of July 2014.
Diversified Restaurant Holdings, Inc. announced that it completed the previously announced acquisition of three Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in FL.
Doc Popcorn has been acquired by Dippin’ Dots Franchising LLC.
Food Management Partners acquired Furr’s Fresh Buffet and Dynamic Foods out of bankruptcy. In time, all management functions for Furr’s will be absorbed into Food Management Partners’ corporate office in San Antonio. Day-to-day management of Dynamic Foods will remain in Lubbock.

Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. announced plans to launch a major remodeling program across its nationwide network of nearly 3,400 Arby’s quick-service sandwich restaurants. The turnkey revitalization initiative includes a new building image, team member re-training program and franchisee remodel financing solution.
Bar Louie plans to add 200 new units by 2018. This year, there are plans to open 25 locations and over the coming 24 months, Bar Louie has set its sights on adding corporate units in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and TX. Growth in franchise expansion is focused on the West Coast and parts of the Southeast.
Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza announced that its 25th restaurant is set to open next month in Mission Viejo CA, and its 60th restaurant is scheduled to open in New Orleans LA in December. Its first NY location opened in mid-July.
Bojangles’ Restaurants, Inc. opened its 600th location. The chain expects to open 55 to 60 locations throughout the Southeast this year, adding new restaurants in more than 25 market areas including Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Orlando, FL; Richmond, VA; Nashville, Knoxville, and Tri-Cities, TN. This year’s expansion is part of Bojangles’ long-term growth plan to have 1,000 units open by 2020.

Pie Five Pizza Co. announced that it has awarded eight franchise units to be developed in Lubbock, Amarillo, Odessa, Midland and Abilene, beginning in early 2015. and 18 franchise units throughout Tampa, FL. Pie Five Pizza Co. has also awarded 26 franchise units to Quality Restaurant Concepts LLC which will bring the brand to three new states across the Deep South – AL, MS and Chattanooga TN.

Saladworks is on target to open nine new stores in the United States and at least five internationally. Au Bon Pain has expanded installation of SiteSage, an enterprise-level energy and asset management system, to cafes in Boston, New York City and Washington, DC, according to a recent press release. SiteSage allows multi-site operators of small commercial facilities to remotely monitor equipment, diagnosing performance issues and identifying inefficiencies. Operators can monitor performance via web or mobile apps.
Chipotle Mexican Grill plans to purchase more than 20 million pounds of locally grown produce in its restaurants this year, up from its 2013 goal of 15 million pounds.
InterContinental Hotels Group announced that IHG’s patented Green Engage program, the online sustainability program used by more than 2,700 IHG-branded hotels worldwide, is helping hotels address the drought conditions in California. IHG is targeting a reduction in water usage in water-stressed areas by 12% globally by 2017.
