Personnel Update:

ABC Supply Co. has promoted Mike Schwarz to Exec Director of Purchasing and Merchandising.

Boise Cascade has named Tom Corrick Exec VP in charge of its Wood Products segment.   Corrick is replacing the retiring Tom Lovlien.

Cemex CEO Lorenzo Zambrano has died unexpectedly at age 70.

Cemex has announced two successors to the late Lorenzo Zambrano’s title as Chairman and CEO of the company.  The board has unanimously appointed Director Rogelio Zambrano as Chairman and now former Exec VP, Finance Fernando Gonzalez as CEO, effective immediately.

Do it Best Corp. has named Gary Hoffmann to lead a seasoned business development team in the newly created role of national multi-location sales and business development manager, effective immediately.

Home Depot merchandising executive Melissa Phillips has left the company to become Exec VP and General Merchandise Manager at Tuesday Morning Corporation.

Lowe’s Companies, Inc. announced that Michael A. Jones has been named the company’s Chief Customer Officer.  Jones had served as Lowe’s Chief Merchandising Officer, overseeing the full merchandise offering for all Lowe’s U.S. stores and Lowes.com, as well as all global sourcing activities.  Jones succeeded Gregory M. Bridgeford, who retired after 32 years with the company.

Lowe’s has promoted Michael P. McDermott to Chief Merchandising Officer, replacing Michael A. Jones, who has assumed the role of Chief Customer Officer. The company also named Joseph M. (Mike) Mabry as Strategy and Experience Design Executive, replacing Robert J. Gfeller, who left the company last month.

Tractor Supply announced that Lee Downing has been promoted to Exec VP Store Operations.  In conjunction with his promotion, Mr. Downing will assume added leadership responsibilities for the company’s real estate team.  In addition to leading the store operations and store support administration teams, Mr. Downing will be responsible for the strategic new store site selection, facilitation of store openings and ongoing maintenance, in addition to other real estate functions.

Weyerhaeuser is reordering its leadership team through this summer.

Sara Kendall, VP Corporate Affairs and Sustainability has retired.  Kristen Sawin has been named VP Government Relations, Environment, Health and Safety.  Beth Baum taken over the role of Director of Investor Relations, and Patty Bedient, Exec VP and CFO, continues to have overall accountability for investor relations.

Weyerhaeuser has appointed Jeff Rettig to the role of U.S. Sales Director for its Tru Joist Engineered Lumber division.

Rent-A-Center, Inc., announced that total revenues for the year ended December 31, 2013, were $3,104.2 million, an increase of $21.5 million from total revenues of $3,082.6 million in the prior year.

Ricciardi Brothers Inc. has acquired Old City Paint & Decorating and its nine Philadelphia area stores.
