CVS Caremark stated that Rob Price, Senior VP Marketing and Advertising and Chief Marketing Officer for CVS/pharmacy, has left the company to take a new role.
Rite Aid has appointed Matt Lynch, an information technology executive with nearly 30 years of experience, as Senior VP and CIO.
Sally Beauty President Tobin Anderson resigned May 14, according to a document the company filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company did not release a reason for Anderson’s departure.
Town Sports International Holdings, Inc. announced the appointment of Carolyn Spatafora as CFO, effective May 12, 2014. Ms. Spatafora succeeds Daniel Gallagher, who had been serving as Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2014.

Walgreens had April sales of $6.49 billion, an increase of 8.8 percent from $5.96 billion for the same month in fiscal 2013.

CVS Caremark announced it has entered into new clinical affiliations with four major regional health systems to enhance access to high-quality, affordable health care services for patients. The collaborating health systems include Hartford HealthCare in Connecticut; Memorial Health in Georgia, and Lahey Health and Baystate Health in Massachusetts.
CVS/pharmacy announced the return of the “Free Gas Card” promotion, a program designed to help customers save on gas while shopping for everyday essentials at participating CVS/pharmacy locations nationwide.
Stop & Shop, in partnership with Norwalk Hospital FastCare, will open an in-store health clinic in Fairfield, CT on May 20. The clinic will be staffed by Norwalk Hospital nurse practitioners and physician assistants, who will provide care for minor conditions and symptoms
Real Estate:
CVS MinuteClinic announced that it has surpassed 20 million patient visits since opening the nation’s first store-based clinic in 2000. Significant continued growth is anticipated in the coming years with the demand for more accessible and affordable health care services as a result of the Affordable Care Act, the primary care provider shortage and an aging Baby Boomer population. MinuteClinic expects to add 150 new clinic locations in 2014 in both existing and expansion markets, including those in several new states: Nebraska, New Mexico, and Wisconsin. By 2017, MinuteClinic projects to have 1,500 clinics nationwide.
