Since its inception in 2002, Sprouts Farmers Market has annually been one of the fastest growing supermarket concepts in the country, both in terms of sales and unit count. In May 2012, Sprouts completed its merger with Sunflower Farmers Market. Recently, the company completed a successful initial public offering and is now a publicly traded company. Sprouts believes there is a potential for over 1,200 total locations throughout new and existing markets based on an aggressive new store growth rate of 12% per year.
