Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage recently became a publicly traded company.  It believes the entire U.S. market can support at least 1,100 Natural Grocer locations; plans for 12 new stores in fiscal 2013 are already established.

The company opened a new location in Lubbock, TX March 5. The Lubbock store will be the company’s 12th Texas location, and will carry only natural and organic products on its shelves. USDA-certified organic produce, meats from animals raised naturally without the use of antibiotics or hormones, as well as other organic and natural groceries will be sold, as well as dietary supplements and body care products and a selection of gluten-free and other special dietary need products.
