Walmart has expanded its use of the “Scan & Go” iPhone app from a single-store test to 40 locations in the Denver area. Shoppers who download the app can scan items with their phones as they walk the aisles of the store. When they’re finished, they select “done shopping” and the app creates a unique QR code that is read at a self-checkout station where the customer chooses a payment option to complete the transaction.

Coach will begin to leverage mobile POS this Spring, which will allow the retailer to remove cash wraps.

J. McLaughlin has selected Jesta I.S.’ Vision Suite to help simplify business processes and support their growth plans.

Kohl’s has selected Oracle Retail Merchandising, Planning and Supply Chain solutions to seamlessly integrate core retail operations across all of the company’s stores.

Men’s Wearhouse will implement software provider DeSL’s full supply chain solution, adding to its existing use of the company’s PLM software.

Perry Ellis plans to bring mobile POS tablets to all locations nationwide by the end of Q1 2013.

The Jones Group is piloting the Epicor Retail Mobile Store to enhance store operations and customer service.

DSW announced it will expand their use of NCR Advanced Store POS software to offer mobile POS to shoppers.

Auntie Anne’s and Carvel have each selected the MICROS e7 POS solution. The MICROS e7 all-in-one POS system will be installed in more than 450 Carvel outlets worldwide. In addition, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels has extended its existing MICROS e7 preferred vendor agreement with MICROS for its 1,000 U.S. franchised locations.
