Founded nearly two decades ago, Lumber Liquidators is a growth-based company which remains under the auspices and inspiration of founder Tom Sullivan.  Though Mr. Sullivan relinquished his titles of President and CEO in 2006, he remains deeply involved in virtually all aspects of the business.  He currently heads the company’s marketing and advertising departments while continuing to spearhead product purchase opportunities.

Chain Store Guide’s database of Home Center Operators and Hardware Chains indicates that Lumber Liquidator’s total sales for the year 2012 grew an impressive 19.3 percent over the previous year’s sales. This is all the more impressive when considering that total sales grew by 9.9 percent and 13.9 percent for the two prior years.

At the same time CSG’s database indicates that Lumber Liquidator’s store count grew by 25 last year to a fiscal year-end total of 288.  This is all the more impressive considering the successive increases of 40 and 37 store openings during the two prior years.  As impressive as these growth numbers are, we must not forget the economic challenges our nation and this market faced during this time.
