CVS/pharmacy announced that it will acquire 19 Medicine Chest drug stores in Texas during the final weekend of December 2012. CVS will continue operating nine of the acquired locations while the remodeling and renaming process takes place. It will distribute the prescription files of the remaining ten pharmacies into nearby existing CVS/pharmacy locations on December 31 2012. Medicine Chest – based in Sulphur Springs – TX will continue to own and operate 10 locations: seven retail pharmacies located in Clarksville, Mt. Vernon, Quitman, Tyler (2), Orange, and Bryan Texas as well as its three long term care pharmacies located in Houston, Sulphur Springs and Bryan, Texas.
