Bi-Lo Holding, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based parent company of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, has extended its business relationship with KSS Retail to include price modeling and optimization services for the Winn-Dixie banner.

Technology News:
Pier 1 continues to invest its CapEx in technology and infrastructure. For fiscal 2013, capital expenditures are expected to be around $70 to $75 million, with about half allocated to stores and the other half allocated to technology and infrastructure. Among the retailer’s investments are a new POS system, an e-commerce site, a mobile site and a new loyalty rewards program in partnership with Alliance Data.

Finish Line is equipping store associates with mobile POS devices so that shoppers do not have to stand in line to make a purchase. The retailer is putting iPod touches in 638 of its stores. The roll out is expected to be completed by mid-November.
Saks Inc. has launched AT&T Wi-Fi at all 44 retail locations nationwide.
Urban Outfitters will add Apple devices for all of its stores by equipping salespeople with iPods and replacing cash registers with iPads.

Chipotle plans to deploy the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Platform to its 1,250 U.S. based store locations and to its corporate staff of 500 users. 
CKE Restaurants has announced that Panasonic’s Stingray Envo has met the rigorous certification standards set forth by CKE and is now approved for use by Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s franchises across the nation.
