Personnel Update:
ABC Supply, the nation’s largest distributor of roofing, has promoted Mike Boggs to Director of Operations, a newly created position.
ABC Supply has hired Tom Walker as its Executive Director of Commercial Roofing, a newly created position.
Beacon Roofing Supply appointed Rick C. Welker as VP and Chief Accounting Officer. 
Do it Best Corp. has named Rich Lynch as its Retail Marketing Director.
Louisiana-Pacific has announced that Exec VP Curt Stevens, LP’s CFO since 1997, will assume the interim position of Exec VP and COO, newly created by the LP board of directors. Sallie Bailey has joined the company as Exec VP and CFO.
ProBuild Holdings has named Don Riley as its new Exec VP Supply Chain and Technology.
RONA Inc. announced the appointment of Robert Pare as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Tractor Supply Company announced two management promotions.  Alexander L. Stanton has been appointed as Senior VP Supply Chain and Christine E. Skold has been appointed as VP, Investor Relations Strategy. 
Mergers and Acquisitions:
Lyman Lumber, the Excelsior, Minn.-based pro dealer, has been acquired by BlackEagle Partners, the parent company of US LBM Holdings. Serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area as well as parts of Wisconsin.  Lyman Lumber will join US LBM Holdings, a collection of eight pro dealer operations serving the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic in nine states with more than 40 locations. BlackStar, a New York private equity firm, is the financial backing and strategic oversight behind US LBM Holdings and its companies.
Mead Lumber, the regional LBM chain with locations in seven Midwestern states, has purchased four locations of Fullerton Supply Co.  The stores are located in Yankton, Vermillion and Winner S.D, and Norfolk, Neb.  Fullerton will still operate its lumberyards in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Industry Insight:
84 Lumber will close its yard in Fruitland, Md.
Aldrich Lumber, a fixture in Billings, Mont., is relocating to the edge of town and downsizing its business into a specialty dealer of pole barns and riding arenas.  The owning family will close the yard that’s been swallowed up by the city, move to the new edge of town and start over as an entirely different business.
All American Home Center of Downey, Calif., is closing after more than 50 years of business.
Builders FirstSource has announced the opening of a new location in Riviera Beach, Fla. The 45,000-sq.-ft. facility, located off the I-95 corridor in Southern Florida, will replace the company’s West Palm Beach location.
Jackson Lumber & Millwork has agreed to purchase the assets of the Eastern Lumber Co. in Amesbury, Mass.  The 14,000 sq. ft. former Eastern Lumber store, which sits on 3.5 acres, closed last June after 61 years in business.  Jackson Lumber plans extensive renovations. The lumberyard is projected to open in the spring of 2012.
