CVS/pharmacy executive Mike Bloom has resigned from the company and will serve as President and COO of Family Dollar Stores.
Katz Group Canada has announced the retirement of industry veteran Andy Giancamilli as CEO, effective Feb. 2, 2012. The company also announced the planned retirement of Warren Jeffery, Chief Development Officer and interim Chief Merchandising Officer on Oct. 31, 2011.
Navarro Discount Pharmacy has expanded its management team by naming Luis Mier as CFO and promoting Manuel Leon to VP wholesale and OTC programs.
Safeway Inc. announced that Dr. Kent Bradley has joined the company as Chief Medical Officer, a newly created position focused on further enhancing and building Safeway’s reputation as a health care innovator.

Walgreens is reorganizing its merchandising and marketing leadership teams to better align the “strategic objectives” and to enhance the integration of those teams, according to a statement from the company.As part of the reorganization the role of chief marketing officer will be eliminated, and as a result, Kim Feil will be leaving the company effective Sept. 30, 2011.
Walgreens appointed Jeffrey Kang SVP of health and wellness services and solutions, effective 10-31-2011. Most recently Dr. Kang was chief medical officer at CIGNA. The company also named Mike Ellis VP of specialty pharmacy and infusion. Both positions were newly created.
