This month, Chain Store Guide will release its 2011 Heavy Hitters Retail Pharmacy Report, focusing on the top five U.S. pharmacy operators. Over the next few months, this space will highlight data from players outside of that realm, but who are still making strides in the industry. The first company profile will be on Kinney Drugs – one of the oldest drug chains in the country – which opened its first store over 100 years ago in 1903.  Also one of the fastest growing chains, Kinney’s sales have more than doubled since 2001 to eclipse $700 million.
