BMC appointed Keith Costello as its VP Sales.
Handy Hardware announced that Kenneth White, a partner at consulting firm Tatum, will assume the post of CEO.
HD Supply Facilities Maintenance has named Robin Soehl as its VP Strategy and Channel Development.
House-Hasson announced that Larry Fennell, House-Hasson’s Information Systems Director, and Tim Lawson, the company’s VP of Operations, are retiring. Fennell is being replaced by Dennis Quilliams. In operations, Don Phillips, who has worked in logistics and management for several companies, will take over for Lawson.
Lowe’s announced that Larry Stone, President and COO, has retired. The company said it does not plan to fill the President and COO position after Stone’s retirement.
R.C. Willey Home Furnishings has named Todd Bothe VP of Merchandise.
True Value Co. hired Rosalee Hermens as new CIO, responsible for leading the co-op’s information technology team and managing the co-op’s retail and enterprise systems. Hermens replaces Leslie Weber.
Industry Insight:
House-Hasson Hardware is expanding its paint and sundries offerings with the addition of a new sales team. The company has added a 10-person field sales team and their territories from a company that Hasson declined to identify.
Green Initiatives:
Allied Building Products, one of the industry’s leading distributors of exterior building products, is adding solar panels and accessories to its lineup in a special pro-oriented display. Solar products will have a dedicated area within Allied’s Contractor Tool Center , which the company opened on May 12 at its East Rutherford, N.J., headquarters.
The 7,000-sq.-ft. facility includes power tools, roofing products, flashings, sealants, fasteners, safety equipment and other products regularly used by contractors. The solar products area includes solar panel displays, string inverters, combiner boxes, Quickmount PV products, solar fasteners and other accessories.
Lowe’s has signed a contract with residential solar firm Sungevity to become a distributor, significantly expanding its reach into the fast growing market for domestic solar panels.
